Each president has a State of the Union address, and each one will
give a budget and plan to help the economy. The current president Obama has a
plan to deal with the economy directly. His Medicare reform is a great one; it
will help reduce the debt we have by over 400 billion dollars. That’s all on the
hospitals and drug companies, all by reducing healthcare spending. Some of the
topics he reaches on are pay less for drugs what he means by that is he would
increase the rebates the government receives and make them the same rebates
which would save 140 billion dollars. There are also some more ways he plans to
save with this Medicare reform.
Another part of the Medicare reform is raise the premiums for the
wealthy by fifteen percent by 2017 you would see 25 dollars increase in their
deductibles, with another 100 dollars for home health service. This will end up
saving 35 billion dollars. This program or reform has already saved 175 billion
dollars. Up to 175 billion is being demolished from our debt, and there is more
to come.
One more that will save 50 billion dollars is reducing the payments
for post hospital care. What this means is that they would be bring down the
price to a lower and more affordable for everyone, with the same care that
people pay extra for. We should all be treated the same anyway so he is giving
people that chance just as everyone should have, no is above the other said in
the constitution. So why should we not be getting the same treatments as other
people do?
This reform is doing a lot for our government and economy. With the
debt in the trillions of dollars whatever we can get rid of that we don’t need,
helps us a lot more than anyone thinks. With all the money we owe losing a
little at a time will help the economy in the long run that is what we need.
Many might not agree with Obama, I know I don’t agree with him on all his plans,
but some we have to say that they are not too bad. This one is not too bad, plus
these were only parts of the new president’s plans and I guess all we can do is
hope it works out.
